Windsurfing: Ythan Estuary, Aberdeen Wind Direction: S Wind Stength: 30-40 mph Surf / Sea State: Choppy Air Temperature: Cold Sea Temperature: OK Weather: Almost sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Managed to get a few hours off work , and made it down to the water about
an hour and a half before high tide. Jim was already there. The wind meter
was showing 25 - 35 mph, and quite gusty, so rigged the 4.2m up. The tide
was really ripping in at this point, making life difficult. Gybing was
tricky in the gusty conditions, but got round a few, but never really felt
comfortable on a good blast, even after much harness line fiddling. As the
tide eased, the water state improved a bit, but the wind had been picking
up all the time. After about an hour we were getting gusts of 45 mph, and
at this point we decided to call it a day - so I packed up and went back to
work. I think I have definately found my limit in terms of wind strength.
